Mental Health Services

HHSI provides a wide range of comprehensive psychiatric and substance abuse treatments. Treatment routinely includes assessment, diagnosis, prescription and administration of psychotropic medications, individual and group therapy, psycho-education, and reviews of medical health history. Individualized recovery plans are developed in collaboration with the client to address presenting problems and design a plan of action to achieve goals. These plans are reviewed and updated regularly throughout the client’s recovery process. Crisis evaluations are performed as needed.

Psychiatric Treatment
HHSI provides support and treatment for a full range of psychiatric disorders. Individual and group therapy services based on best practices model. Outpatient groups are based on stage of treatment and recovery.

Clozaril Clinic
This program is designated as the system’s provider of psychiatric services related to the prescription and monitoring of the pharmaceutical, Clozaril. Agreements and protocols with the drug manufacturer are in place to treat individuals and provide the close monitoring and maintenance required with treatment.

Clients with Primary Substance Abuse Issues
Individual and group therapy providing support and education around issues related to recovery. The program includes working toward linking clients to NA/AA supports. Random urine specimens and breath analysis are utilized to monitor progress toward recovery.

Clients with Dual Diagnosis
Individual and group therapy, medication and supportive services are offered to clients with psychiatric illness who also abuse drugs and/or alcohol. Unique to this service is the philosophy that abstinence and sobriety are not prerequisites for treatment, but are the goals of the program. For clients who require detoxification, referrals to providers of this service will be initiated as appropriate.

Counseling, medication and supportive services are offered to people who struggle with both mental health issues as well as substance use issues at the same time. This presents specific challenges which calls for specialized integrated treatment. Unique to this service is the philosophy that abstinence and sobriety are not prerequisites to treatment, but are goals of treatment.

Intensive Outpatient Services
The Intensive Outpatient Program provides specialized treatment to individuals whose needs cannot be met through weekly individual or group treatment alone. Clients attend three to five days a week and participate in three hours of specialized and focused group activities daily. The curriculums are designed to be completed in 8 to 12 weeks. Four tracks are available to meet the needs of these individuals: Dialectical Behavior Therapy-DBT Skills Training, Dual Diagnosis, Symptom Management, and Evening Substance Abuse.
