Mission: The Mission of Harbor Health Services, Inc. is to improve the quality of life of the people we serve by providing comprehensive, effective, and efficient mental health and addiction services.

Who we serve: The agency specializes in serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders. All services are voluntary. Clients should be ready to make a commitment towards their recovery.

Values: We believe the following core values are necessary to achieve our mission:

Philosophy of Care:
Harbor Health Services, Inc. (HHSI) is committed to the highest quality behavioral healthcare and to working with Individuals through all phases of their recovery. We understand that we are employed by the Individual and that they and their family deserve our utmost respect and our clinical guidance in order to form an effective therapeutic partnership. Our overall objective is to collaborate with Individuals and their families in ways that help them achieve their full potential.

We recognize that there are many therapeutic techniques which may be used, and we will employ those techniques which are appropriate, clinically effective and have merit for each Individual. We do this through a range of collaborative treatment and rehabilitative services such as client and family education, clinical and medical treatment, the development of resources and supports, and integration into the community. We will implement interventions based upon each Individual’s stage of recovery and motivation to change. Recovery planning is defined by the Individual and not their diagnosis. We assist each Individual to acquire skills, a social network, and a meaningful sense of belonging in order to be satisfied in the environments of their choice with the least amount of on-going professional interventions.
